At Dolphin Bay Preschool, we integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics into early childhood education.

1. Science: Encourages curiosity and exploration of the natural world. Activities might include observing plants, experimenting with water, or exploring animal habitats.
2. Technology: Introduces basic technological concepts and tools. This can involve using simple educational applications on our iMac equipped classroom.
3. Engineering: Focuses on problem-solving and building. Children might engage in constructing structures with blocks, designing simple machines, or creating bridges.
4. Art: Enhances creativity and expression. Art projects can be integrated with other S.T.E.A.M areas, such as drawing designs for engineering projects or creating art inspired by scientific observations.
5. Mathematics: Develops foundational math skills through hands-on activities. This includes counting, measuring, pattern recognition, and basic geometry.
   The S.T.E.A.M approach emphasizes hands-on learning, critical thinking, and collaboration. It encourages children to ask questions, explore, and discover through integrated activities that make learning both fun and meaningful.

Yes, we provide hot meals at our preschool. Each day, we offer two nutritious snacks and one hot lunch for all preschoolers. Our meals are carefully planned to meet the dietary needs of young children, and we ensure they are suitable for those without allergies. If your child has any specific dietary requirements, please let us know so we can work out a plan to accommodate their needs.

To ensure a smooth transition for your child into the upper class, it is important that they are potty trained. While we understand that every child develops at their own pace, we require children to be potty trained to move up. This helps maintain a comfortable and hygienic environment for all.
However, we do recognize that some children between the ages of 2 and 3 may still be in the process of potty training. If your child falls into this age group and is not yet fully potty trained, please let us know so we can provide additional support and guidance during this transition period.

We prioritize clear and consistent communication with parents. To achieve this, we use a dedicated mobile app that allows us to send daily updates, share photos, provide announcements, and facilitate messaging. This approach ensures parents are always informed and involved in their child’s preschool experience.

Children grow across the whole child here. Through hands-on Montessori and S.T.E.A.M projects and bilingual English–Vietnamese experiences, they develop early literacy, math, science, and problem-solving. Consistent routines build social-emotional skills (sharing, empathy, self-regulation), independence, and resilience. You’ll see gains in language, confidence, fine/gross motor skills, and overall school readiness.

We’re fully licensed by the California Department of Social Services and follow all Title 22 regulations. All staff pass fingerprint/background checks, are CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter certified, and complete ongoing training. We meet or exceed state ratios and health/safety standards (sanitation, secure check-in/out, emergency drills). Children must have up-to-date immunizations and follow our family handbook policies. Regular inspections and internal audits ensure a safe, high-quality program.

We provide multicultural care by honoring each child’s language, identity, and family traditions. Our bilingual English–Vietnamese program, inclusive books/toys/music, and thoughtfully chosen celebrations reflect many cultures. Teachers receive anti-bias training and adapt routines and materials to be respectful (names, holidays, clothing, hair). We partner with families for translation and dietary/religious accommodations—so every child feels seen, safe, and proud.
